SHDA supports Inquirer’s Project Rebound because we believe that this is in line with the objective and goal of the association which is to promote developers’ welfare and interests and to have a vibrant and productive housing industry. SHDA helps the government in addressing the country’s housing need and backlog. These efforts will redound to economic recovery and general welfare of population. The housing sector transcends and cuts across all other sectors such as women and children, education, employment, peace and order, productivity and the economy. Housing has been utilized as economic pump primer and has a multiplier effect on the economy of some 3.14% as there are more than 80 industries attached to housing. Likewise, housing sector is labor intensive and can address 5% of the total employment requirements of the country. SHDA is in synergy with PDI in its efforts to support economic rebound.
