The Megaworld group’s e-commerce startup, Pick-a-roo, has grown its online consumer marketplace since debuting at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, breaching 1,000 brands and 150,00 products across various categories to date.
“We have been carefully curating and selecting our merchant partners to provide only the best offerings to our customers,” said Kevin Tan, president of Agile Digital Ventures Inc., Megaworld’s digital and innovation investment subsidiary, which is behind Pick-a-roo.
Pick-a-roo’s products vary across categories from home to hardware, health to mom and baby needs, food to groceries and other specialty brands.
Launched at the height of the pandemic in August last year, Pick-a-roo seeks to bring brands and specialty stores closer to consumers who are unable to visit most physical stores given quarantine restrictions.
The company reported that 75 percent of its transactions were made by consumers who led credit cards. App users transact through the platform at an average frequency of once a week for groceries and up to thrice a week for food delivery.
Unlike other delivery apps operating today, Pick-a-roo lets users shop from various stores at the same time and check out in one go. The proposition is to have everything delivered straight to one’s doorstep all in a safe and contact-free way, in as fast as 25 minutes for food and one hour for groceries and medicines.
Best service
Users are also given the choice when to have their items delivered to them.
“Part of our vision is to constantly challenge ourselves to provide the best service to our discerning customers. So, it is always our goal to decrease the waiting time for delivery,” added Tan.
