Globe Telecom rolled out free wifi in government buildings and select medical facilities in Antipolo, a statement on Friday showed.
The telco giant further provides the local government with Automated Mobile Blaster (Amber) services to quickly disseminate information to residents as COVID-19 vaccination efforts are ramped up.
The measures were announced as Globe extended its fiber internet footprint in Antipolo by about 25,000 lines.
The company’s GoWifi service will be provided for free in the Antipolo City Hall and hospitals such as the Rizal Provincial Hospital Padilla, Rizal Provincial Hospital Dalig, Rizal Provincial Mambugan.
GoWifi currently reaches more than 3,100 locations nationwide.
“It is with great pleasure that we are called a partner of the City of Antipolo in enabling better and richer digital experiences for its residents,” Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu said in the statement.
“We are hopeful to bring Antipolo one step closer to being a connected city, advancing greater stability and achieving its digital transformation goals,” he added.
