On its 35th year, the country’s pioneering health maintenance organization (HMO) remains steadfast and driven, unwavering in its commitment to deliver quality healthcare to Filipinos.
Despite the drastic changes and challenges in the landscape over the decades, MediCard Philippines Inc. continues to be faithful to its promise of providing affordable, accessible, service-oriented healthcare, while still finding new and more innovative ways to serve its customers. This is why, amid the pandemic, MediCard continued to expand, opening new free standing clinics to widen its reach and more importantly, ensure the availability of comprehensive health services in more areas across the country.
Over the past year, it opened two clinics—the Medicard RAM Plaza Makati, which is located in Legaspi Village, Makati City, and Medicard Davao in Agdao, Davao City. This brings to 16 Medicard’s number of free-standing clinics, on top of its 23 hospital based satellite clinics.
Safe, convenient way
These two new clinics, which are both a welcome complement to the public healthcare system, offer MediCard and non-MediCard members an option—a safe and convenient way to avail of primary care and diagnostic tests, among others, without needing to visit hospitals that, at one point, were heavily strained due to the pandemic.
MediCard Davao offers a safe and convenient way to avail of primary care and diagnostic tests.
MediCard Davao currently offers an array of services for individuals and companies. Open from Mondays through Saturdays, this clinic can cater to companies needing pre-employment examination and annual physical examination for their employees. Individuals can meanwhile avail of consultations, x-ray and imaging services, medical evaluations, dental services as well as clinical laboratory and drug testing.
The Philhealth accredited MediCard RAM Plaza Makati offers an array of services administered by an exceptional roster of doctors, experts, and medical personnel.
The Philhealth accredited MediCard RAM Plaza Makati, also open Mondays through Saturdays, offers the same lineup of services, but has added a few more—major and minor surgeries, specialty consultations, and executive check-ups. This should be a welcome relief to those still unsure or hesitant to go to the big hospitals for these services.
For both facilities, MediCard ensures a stellar team of doctors and medical experts to attend to your needs. Appointments are likewise strongly advised to ensure the safety of both patients and doctors in the clinics. It’s thus unsurprising that MediCard continues to be the preferred healthcare provider of many Filipinos over the last 35 years.
Innovations, improvements
What’s good about MediCard is that it remains unrelenting in its bid to innovate and improve. After all, it’s an HMO founded and run by doctors who have, since the company’s inception in 1987, continually strived “to provide more Filipinos access to quality healthcare through innovative products and services that will make staying healthy possible for every Filipino.”
Alongside the opening of the two new clinics, it has also upgraded its existing clinics. The MediCard Lifestyle Center in Makati, for example, is now also a one-stop center for wellness needs. Apart from the operating room, consultation rooms, imaging and X-ray rooms, this center also features a dental clinic, a pharmacy, a fitness studio, and a laser and aesthetic care center.
MediCard is beefing up its digital healthcare services as well, introducing new products that enable Filipinos to keep their and their families’ health in check sans the arbitrary, and sometimes, unnecessarily exorbitant costs of doing so.
Recently, it relaunched its app, now called Medicard Go, which gives you easy access to all your healthcare needs with just a few taps on your mobile phone.
Previously called the MACE App, Medicard Go allows you to consult with its roster of doctors online through the Talk2Doc platform; set an appointment with specialists; request approval of letter of authorization (LOA) for face-to-face consultation; request approval of LOA for tests; set an appointment for RT-PCR or Antigen testing; view info on your membership, status of your utilization and reimbursements; search for accredited providers; as well as view the list of merchants where you can use your MediCard ID as a discount card.
As it makes its services even more accessible physically and digitally, MediCard no doubt remains at the forefront of providing quality healthcare that Filipinos truly deserve.
